Discussion Policy

Reader discussions take place on Facebook. Use a story’s “Discuss on Facebook” link to open its matching post directly. Stories without a linked Facebook post have no discussion link. Facebook is Tysonomo Multimedia’s social platform for daily news publication. Facebook’s account requirements, platform rules and privacy practices apply. This hub does not accept comment submissions.

Tysonomo Multimedia welcomes respectful, civil discourse and the exchange of differing viewpoints. We believe open discussion strengthens our communities and reflects the freedoms of speech and the press protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Our discussion spaces are privately operated and subject to the following rules.

Discuss the reporting. Respect the people.

Disagreement, criticism and challenging questions are welcome. Address ideas, public actions and the substance of the reporting without threatening or harassing others.

Comments must not include:

• Threats, incitement to violence or targeted harassment.
• Slurs or dehumanizing attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability.
• Private personal information, including home addresses, personal telephone numbers or information identifying protected victims or minors.
• Knowingly false statements, defamatory allegations or unsupported accusations of criminal conduct.
• Sexually explicit material, unlawful content or material that infringes another person’s rights.
• Impersonation, spam, scams, repetitive posts or unrelated commercial promotions.

Accuracy and accountability

Distinguish opinion from factual claims. Provide reliable sources when making factual assertions, and do not present allegations as established guilt. Individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Readers may question our reporting and identify possible errors. Please submit formal correction requests through the Contact page on Tysonomo.com.

Moderation

Tysonomo Multimedia reserves the right to review or remove comments, close discussions and restrict participation for violations of this policy. Comments may be held for review before appearing. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Moderation decisions are based on the content and conduct at issue, rather than agreement or disagreement with a political viewpoint. Criticism of Tysonomo Multimedia is permitted when it follows these rules.

We may remove an entire comment rather than edit it. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or loss of commenting privileges.

Responsibility for comments

Comments represent their authors’ views and do not necessarily reflect those of Tysonomo Multimedia. Publication of a comment does not constitute verification or endorsement of its claims.

Commenters are responsible for the material they submit and must have the right to share it. Moderation is not a guarantee that every comment is accurate or complies with this policy.

Reporting concerns

Use the reporting option, where available, or contact Tysonomo Multimedia through Tysonomo.com. Include the story link, the comment and a brief explanation of your concern. Reporting a comment does not automatically result in removal.

Policy updates

Tysonomo Multimedia may revise this policy as its discussion features develop. The current version and its effective date will be displayed with the policy.
